Who We Are
About Us
All-volunteer fire department located in Currituck County in northeastern North Carolina. Our primarily rural fire district is situated along U.S. Route 168, the main travel corridor for motorists traveling from Virginia and points north to Currituck County and the Outer Banks. We operate a primary station at Sligo and two sub-stations (Maple Station and Currituck Station) within our 85 square mile first due response area.
Our Services
We provide fire protection, fire response, accident response, animal rescue, grain bin rescue, water rescue, medivac landing zones, EMS support, and fire prevention eductation. Our Maple station provides crash response to the Currituck County Regional Airport. Our station at Sligo houses a full time paid medic unit from Currituck County Fire and EMS.
Our History of Excellence
We are proud to have improved our ISO rating from Class 5 to Class 4, Method 3, reflecting our continued commitment to providing quality fire protection to our community. We currently maintain three fire stations and 19 pieces of apparatus to support our emergency response operations
